Suzuki Grand Vitara Lift Kit Install The V6A 1.25" spacer will give about 2 inches in the front.I kept the stock struts and added lowered them a bit with spacers. The front control arms are so short on these trucks that you need a much shorter spacer in the front to gain the same as the back of the truck. I used the canadian tire spacers in the front and they gave me two inches of lift. Plumbing clamps work fine and seem to hold up. They fit on top of the coil just as the tj spacers but you need to hold them together somehow. If you live in Canada, Canadian Tire sells these coil spacers that you cut to the diameter you need. Two weeks ago I added tj coils (to boost the lift to 4") in the back, kept the spacers and changed to F150 shocks. I ran with the stock ones for the past year. I have not done the strut mount flip my self on the vitara. The stock shocks can still be used in the back with the lift but they'll feel rougher on bumps. You can do the strut mount frip just as on the sidekicks but you'll have to get rid of the engine rollbar to do this because it won't fit on with the strut mount flipped. I think it would work well. A 3 inch drop in the strut should give you more downtravel. You'll gain 2 inches from the spacers because the control arms are so short. I'm running those in my sidekick.Quote from: Duleau on Friday, Aug 05, 2005, 03:06 AMWas wondering instead of doing the strut mount flip and losing the engine rollbar if i could put some spacers where the strut bolts together. If it can be done, how thick should i make them with the 1 inch spacer over the coils.I read elsewhere that the strut mount flip gives around 3 inches which might be to much?.I found 4-15 inch steel rims from a tracker today and they don't rub,so thats a start. Also went to the srapyard today and they got a 99 grand vitara for parts.Noticied it had locking hubs.I can get some for free from a 93 tracker, will they fit? or should i buy the one's from the GV.If the strut mount flip on the vitaras give three inches I don't think that would be too much. The crown vic shocks are a good swap for a 2" lift. Reflector for mac freeI'm not sure which ones fit.Quote from: jagular7 on Saturday, Aug 06, 2005, 11:00 PMI wouldn't recommend flipping the overly tall Vitara strut mounts. You can only lower them a bit this way or you'll run out of thread on the three bolts.I didn't install locking hubs on mine. What I used are some steel rings (basically washers) to lower the strut. ![]() ![]() Some Suzuki dealers can't even find them and Toyota studs and nuts (which also fit) are expensive as hell! Here's my plan for the eventual lift on our GV:Here's more of an explanation of that lift and how it came to be:Made by a fellow Canadian which would save you shipping costs over us US folks.I'm debating on what I'll do exactly. My project was delayed a few weeks until a good soul gave me a set of the conical washers, bolts, and lock washers for free. Just make sure you get the bolts, conical washers, and lock washers off the donor vehicle as GV's have bolts only holding the drive flanges on. Mine came off of a 93 Tracker as well. Any Samurai/Sidekick/Tracker hub will bolt right onto your GV. However in the interest of saving cash I may just buy the full kit minus the rear shocks from him and run the stock front shocks until I they wear out or we can really afford the OME struts. In that case I'd only be buying the lift spacers and bump stop extensions from him.
